BEYOND ASANA

Each yoga class has a specific focus: MOVE | BREATHE | REST | CONNECT | PLAY

This unique framework is based on the Panchamaya Koshas or five layers of being. 

In Sanskrit, pancha means “five” whilst kosha translates as “sheath” and taken together these five sheaths or layers form a holistic model for health & wellbeing. To be well we need to pay attention to ALL five layers. 

I invite you to start with the physical layer (that which we can see, feel & touch) and then, like peeling back the layers of an onion, journey inwards through the more subtle layers (energetic, mental & emotional, wisdom & intuition, joy & bliss).

Whether nourishing yourself with movement, breath or deep rest, making time to tune in & reconnect or inviting more playfulness & creativity into your life, I hope you find just what need when you need it.

    MOVE

    A seasonal vinyasa based class that grounds you in time and place, fostering a deeper sense of connection with nature's cycles and reminding us that we are part of nature too.

    Scheduled on the first Tuesday of every month @ 8.00-9.00am.

    BREATHE

    Learn how to notice, tune in and be with your breath. Understand what functional breathing means, how to identify different breathing patterns and what these are telling you, and practice shaping your breath to self regulate your nervous system.

    Scheduled on the 2nd Wednesday of every month @ 8.15-8.55am.

    REST

    A monthly practice to rest & restore both body & mind. This slower, more meditative, lunar based flow is followed by a yoga nidra practice also know as yogic sleep for deep rest.

    Scheduled monthly with the full moon and sometimes twice monthly on a blue moon @ 6.30-7.30pm.

    CONNECT

    Yoga comes from the root "juj" which means to yoke or connect. The intention of this practice is to connect with our bodies, our breath, our internal wisdom or intuition and ultimately ourselves, resulting in better connections with others and the world around us.

    Scheduled on the 3rd Thursday of every month @ 6.00-6.40pm.

    PLAY

    Exploring postures in a playful way, this practice reminds us that yoga is not about performance, pushing ourselves or getting it "right", but rather its about feeling our way into a shape with "steadiness and ease". By replacing rules with creativity we reduce fear and cultivate joy.

    Scheduled on the last Thursday of every month @ 8.00-9.00am.

All classes are online and will be recorded, so if you’re unable to join the live session you can make it up in your own time (or do it all over again).

And feel free to roll out of bed and practice ‘less orderly’ style - its not about getting it ‘right’ but rather feeling into your body’s needs day by day & moment by moment.
